Motion should tell you what the vehicle is doing — not simply move the cockpit.
The COG-SHH 3DOF Motion System V3 turns simulator telemetry into physical information you can feel through the entire cockpit.
With 150 mm of actuator travel, speeds up to 250 mm/s and a system capacity above 350 kg, the V3 reproduces heave, pitch and roll with the range and response required to communicate braking, acceleration, weight transfer, kerbs, surface detail and elevation changes through the rig itself.
Four Actuon AX150-750 linear actuators move the complete cockpit, putting the driver, controls and seat inside the same motion envelope.
And with V3, the system is powered by Actuon — COG's own motion control technology. The actuators, motion controller and control software are designed around the same architecture, giving COG direct control over how the system moves, how it is configured and how it evolves.
V3 combines the proven mechanical architecture of the COG-SHH platform with the Actuon control ecosystem.
At its core is the Actuon8 Motion Controller, COG's own motion control electronics, capable of managing up to eight independent control channels from a single controller. Beneath it, the control chain runs at 500 Hz: a fresh command reaches every actuator every 2 ms, independently of your PC or the title you are running.
The system also incorporates the Actuon-SIB safety interface, positioned between the motion controller and the servo drive layer to provide dedicated drive-enable control and emergency-stop functionality.
The result is a tightly integrated motion architecture in which mechanics, control electronics and motion software are designed to work together.
The four-actuator architecture reproduces the three primary motion axes that communicate vehicle behaviour to the driver.
The objective is not exaggerated movement. It is controlled, repeatable motion that adds physical information to the simulator without disconnecting the driver from what the vehicle is doing.
Heave is what separates a platform that informs from one that only tilts. A rig that pitches and rolls alone has to lean the seat forward to suggest braking, which moves you toward the wheel and changes the distance your muscle memory depends on. Vertical travel does not have that problem: it puts kerbs, compression and elevation under you rather than around you. The V3 delivers the full 0–150 mm of heave in its base configuration, with no second set of actuators to add later.
The V3 is built around the Actuon AX150-750 actuator, the linear actuator COG uses throughout its motion systems.
50 mm high-stiffness main shaft. A large-diameter main shaft provides high structural stiffness under dynamic loading, reducing unwanted flex between the actuator and the cockpit.
Industrial ball-screw transmission. TBI Motion ball screws with 5 mm pitch provide precise linear transmission with low mechanical play and consistent response through repeated direction changes. Play in the transmission is felt as a delay between command and movement, and as a small dead zone around every reversal — which is why the screw specification matters as much as the motor.
Heavy-duty bearing system. Industrial-grade bearings and internal guidance support the lateral loads generated when multiple actuators move the platform simultaneously.
750 W AC servo architecture. High-torque 750 W AC servo motors provide the speed and reversing capability required for dynamic simulation, from small surface inputs to rapid load-transfer events. Pairing them with a 5 mm pitch screw in direct drive puts the motor's torque into force at the actuator rather than into travel speed, which is what lets the platform move 350 kg+ and hold it under braking.
Reduced mechanical noise. Around 50 dB in normal operation — roughly the level of a quiet conversation. The system stays out of the way of your headset, your engine note and the rest of the room.
Compact integration. The control architecture is designed around clean installation beneath or alongside an aluminium-profile cockpit, keeping the motion hardware integrated into the simulator rather than surrounding it with unnecessary external equipment. Articulating feet provide accurate levelling and vibration damping on any floor.
V3 replaces the previous third-party motion controller with COG's own Actuon8 Motion Controller. This gives the system a control layer developed specifically around COG motion hardware rather than adapting the platform to a generic controller.
Actuon8 Motion Controller
Real-time motion control for up to eight independent channels from a single controller.
Actuon-SIB Safety Interface
Dedicated safety interface with emergency-stop functionality and independent control of the servo-drive enable layer. It removes drive torque on demand, independently of the software and of the host PC.
Actuon AX150-750 Actuator
The linear actuator the platform is built on: 150 mm travel, 750 W servo, industrial ball-screw transmission.
Actuon Control Manager
COG's own motion software, developed alongside the hardware it controls.
Together they form the Actuon Ecosystem, the motion technology behind current COG simulation systems.
The COG-SHH 3DOF Motion System V3 is available with three software configurations. All three drive the platform through the Actuon8; they differ in where the software comes from, what it covers and who supports it.
SimHub Compatible. For users who already work within the SimHub ecosystem. No ACM licence is included with this configuration. SimHub is an independent third-party product; the software and any licence it requires must be obtained separately from its developer. COG has no commercial association with SimHub.
Actuon Control Manager — Standard Edition. A motion software licensed by COG and made compatible with the Actuon8, covering more than 100 titles — the widest coverage in the range. Real-time telemetry processing, per-axis motion configuration, hardware diagnostics and automatic Actuon device detection. The system is configured around its hardware before delivery, reducing the work required to move from installation to first drive. Commercial and professional use permitted.
Actuon Control Manager — Professional Edition. COG's own motion software, written in-house alongside the hardware. Its motion cueing algorithm is the one COG has worked on longest and tuned specifically against the Actuon8 and this platform — the same engineers wrote the cueing, the controller firmware and the drive parameters, and tuned them together on the machine.
Professional adds the engineering and analysis tools required for deeper system development: full-rate telemetry capture and replay, run-to-run comparison, advanced hardware diagnostics, 3D platform visualisation, actuator tuning, ActuonMC VR motion compensation and the ACM External API with reference integration projects for Unreal Engine 5, Unity 6 and Godot. Instead of adjusting motion exclusively by feel, sessions and configurations can be recorded, reproduced and compared against measurable data. Commercial and professional use permitted.
Choose SimHub Compatible if SimHub is already your preferred motion environment.
Choose ACM Standard for the broadest title coverage available — more than 100 — configured for your Actuon8 out of the box.
Choose ACM Professional when the way the platform feels is what matters most, or when you need deeper analysis, diagnostics, repeatable tuning, external software integration or engineering tools around the platform. It is the edition COG writes and supports directly, with cueing developed on this hardware rather than adapted to it.
All three configurations use the same V3 mechanical platform and Actuon8 control hardware. You can move up whenever your setup does.
The same platform serves a home cockpit and a commercial installation. What changes is the duty, not the hardware — which is why the V3 is specified around continuous operation rather than occasional use.

Motion software is supplied according to the option selected when ordering. Cockpit structure, seat and host PC are not supplied by COG.
The V3 is the third commercial generation of this platform. Each generation moved a different boundary, and what you are buying today is the result of all three rather than a revision of one.
The mechanics determine what a platform can do on day one. The control system determines what it can still do in year five. When the controller comes from a third party, firmware, availability of replacements and the answer when something behaves unexpectedly all sit with a supplier who did not build the machine. In the V3 they sit with COG.
A 3DOF motion platform built around 150 mm of travel, 250 mm/s response and an integrated COG control ecosystem.
From the mechanical actuator to the motion controller and the software interpreting the telemetry, V3 is designed as one motion system.
For drivers who want to feel more than movement. For simulation systems where the movement needs to mean something.
